Gerald Bowman, a Korean War veteran who served on the USS Laffey DD-724, fulfilled a dying wish and returned to visit his ship at Patriots Point in Mount Pleasant, SC (Charleston Harbor). At 82 when this was filmed in March 2013, he remembered the layout of the ship as well as when he served three tours in the engine room off Korea.
