USS Enterprise (CV-6) earned the nickname “Big E” and the unofficial title of the most decorated ship in the U.S. Navy, with 20 battle stars for World War II service. She participated in nearly every major naval campaign of the Pacific War from the attack on Pearl Harbor through the final strikes on Japan.
